Its about time ...

What is Islam to you?

I know very little about it.. I know it’s the religion im born with.. I know the Quran and Bible speaks the same prophets, the same beginning, the same ending..

Few differences that I know of would be
(A) in Quran, both man and woman were created from dust and in Bible the woman was taken from the rib of the man..
(B) In Quran, Jesus is a divine prophet and He didn’t die in the cross. God doesn’t have a son.
(C) there are 5 commandments in Quran. and it’s..
1. Believe in one God, Allah, and that Mohammed is His messenger;
2. Fasting during the Ramadan season;
3. Give to the poor;
4. Make a pilgrimage at the Holy city of Mecca where Mohammed had his first revelation;
5. Pray 5times a day.

Hmm.. Its sounds like a peaceful religion, but if it is, then why does it have a very bad reputation?

What does the Quran really says about violence to the non-believer?
~ it is a religion of peace but just like any other religions, it is the interpretation of scriptures that separate the saints from a savage..

“if your brother, wife or child worships another god thou shalt surely kill him. Believers must bring that woman or man to the gates of the city and stone them with stones until they die”, it seems like the barbaric commandments that Taliban might follow, but the brutal passages that support this aren’t from the Quran, but the Bible..

Imagine how many priests and nuns chants the psalms every day; and the psalms have really awful versions too, but they chant them and it doesn’t make them violent.. The Bibles old testament are filled with tales of divinely ordained slaughter, yet billions of modern Christians put them in context as ancient war story while focusing on commandments of Jesus to love thy neighbors, as thyself..

So how do Muslim decide which part of Qurans to follow? There are parts that say “let there be no compulsion, in religion” and there are parts that says, “Fight those who do not believe in Allah”. There are apparent contradictions in Quran; 1st half of it instruct kindness and 2nd half instruct violent Jihad. The fundamentalist Muslims follows Mohammed instruction to fight the infidels – they believe part 2 supersedes part 1 – but the infidels Mohammed were talking about in the 2nd part of the Quran are specific enemies that’s been dead for years.. – and the Quran only calls for Jihad against invaders threatening a Muslim home..

In reality, the verse that says “kill the infidels” right next to it, it says “if the non-believer asks you for a sanctuary then let them into your house, so that they may hear the word of Allah, and then let them go on their way”.. But it seems that militants conveniently ignores that verse.. There is also no 72 virgins mentioned in the Quran. I heard it was a wrong translation.. The killing of innocents and the killing of oneself is also prohibited in the Quran.

The point?.. Whatever the radical Muslims believe, it is all a myth.. It is politics. They are using religion as an excuse, finding loopholes in Quran and using that to get ignorant recruits(suicide bombers).

Every religions have a group of radical thinker.

You can't blame the religion, it is politics that's poisoning everything..
