Distance has so little to do with forgetting.

DANCE OF LIFE by Joe D' Mango
There were two hearts that met in a dance.  That moment was magical.  There was a sweet song playing, there was harmony…and soon…love in the air.  They fell in love and started building castles with their dreams and promised forever with all certainty.  But, somewhere, in the midst of the fun, they got lost in the dance, something went wrong, but they can never do anything.  They were just drifting away, their fortress falling apart.  There were so many questions…but no one had an answer.

Then the music stopped…and there was silence…

When we truly loved someone, we give our best and let that person see the pureness of our intention.  But sometimes, that person makes us cry and hurts us for the wrong reason.  That someone must have loved us, but he has not loved us enough to make him stand for what he truly felt.

Now, we are faced with the seemingly impossible task of forgetting.  We have burdened ourselves long enough, but we still can’t get out of this emotional trap.  Let us remember that the more we try to forget someone we love…the more painful letting go will become…

Sometimes, we never had to take that person out of our hearts at all…for he will always be there…no matter how we drive him away…It isn’t his presence that make this difficult.  It is our stubbornness to accept our destiny that aligns forgetting next to impossible.  We keep a cold face but deep in our hearts, there is still that lingering hope for reconciliation.  Somehow, we still believe that we can rekindle small embers and relight the fire that once burned in our hearts.  These thoughts give us hope… but also breed the seeds of loneliness and despair.

The only way to forget is to accept…and the only way to move on is to look ahead…and let the footprints of the past…be blown by the wind of time…only then can our hearts find a partner in the dance of life…and hopefully…never get lost again…

..spread your wings, and fly..

I know you're just a rag doll now,
sewn together with memories that we might have had.
I know you're just the dream inside of a dream.
Soon you'll just be a series of images that sometimes flash through my mind,
when I least expect it.
And after that, only a few will stay.
Then, one. A memory of a memory.

The letter i'll never send..

The letter i'll never send
would calmly ask you why
you broke my heart in two
and told my love goodbye

If I ever sent this letter
It would sweetly state
you tangled up your destiny
and interrupted fate.

The letter I will not write
would casually inquire
how can you live without me --
I was your one desire.

If you receive this letter
It would politely say
you need me in your life now
you can't go on this way.

The letter I'll never send
Would then be briskly signed
"your one and only love"
you know -- the one you left behind..

Heroes and Kings

Now is the time
to reach for the sky
Gather the winds
and hear that voice divine.

Do you know why it is that we sing
of heroes and kings
it is because, my friend,
they are brave and not afraid to fight.

For he who never tries
is the one that is doom to fail
For your heart is like a righteous wind
That comes to fill your sail.

I live in the world of I am
But good will is what I aspire
So I must have a heart of
Steel..

If You Forget Me by Pablo Neruda

 I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant; they, too, have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater or lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in you own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you for what virtue there is. Many persons strive for high ideals and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the council of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy..

The magic we neglect to realize..

You say gravity is the reason things fall to the ground.

I say that gravity is a word,
a name you gave to a small aspect of the magic
that surrounds you on a daily basis.

Electricity is another name for magic.
Wind is another name for magic.
Water is another name for magic.
Love is another name for magic.

We all live in a magical place.

If there's One thing..

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s people who won’t let me in on the freeway.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s having to let people in on the freeway.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s waking up feeling like a failure for not being completely honest.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s waking up feeling like a failure because I didn't filter my honesty.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s turning a bunch of ideas into a laundry list.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s that feeling you get when you scratch something new.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s not knowing what’s wrong with someone and all you want to do is make them feel better.

If there's one thing I hate, it's someone who tries to figure out what's wrong with me when all I want to do is be left alone.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s knowing that my mind naturally gravitates towards the negative and not being able to stop it.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s people who give you a hard time over something then you look back and realize they were paranoid because they did it / they're doing it / they're about to do it.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s not being busy enough to not have space in my head to think of you.

If there's one thing I hate, it's being really busy and I still can't stop thinking of you.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s having to acknowledge that my feelings are my own, no one else’s. And, my responsibility.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s forgetting that and taking the way I feel out on the world.

If there's one thing I hate, it's people who criticize things, who can't take criticism.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s not you.

It's me.

For You

As I put down my pen, I know someone, somewhere is picking up theirs.
I know that someone, somewhere is playing a guitar for the first time.
I know that someone, somewhere is dipping a paintbrush and marking a field of white.
I know that someone, somewhere is singing a song that's never been sung.
Perhaps someone, somewhere will create something so beautiful and moving, it will change the world.
Perhaps that somewhere is here.
Perhaps that someone, is you.

I worry too much about little things..

I think it's going to be alright. I
think it's going to be just fine.
I think it's going to get much
better than before. I think I'm
going to see the sun. I think
I'm going to have some fun.
I think I'm going to walk out
through the open door. And
maybe when I wake up in
the morning, maybe when the
darkness starts to fade. Maybe
in a paper boat I'll just float away.
